Course Info:
This course is intended to help students gain fundamental and comprehensive understanding of: security threats that target the lower layers of the networking infrastructure (sniffing, spoofing,…), TCP/IP security components which are used to establish a secure and encrypted communication channel between two internet connected devices, architecture of IPSec, the needs of DNS security, protection of the resources of a private network using firewalls and intrusion detection.

Course Objectives:
- Analyze and address a number of situations in which security in networks can be compromised.
- Understand and apply selected technologies used to ensure security.
- Apply the algorithms behind some current network security protocols.
- Understand firewalls and their applications.
- Demonstrate detailed knowledge of TCP/IP.
